Dr. Amanda Sheppard is an Applied Scientist at The Hospital for Sick
Children in Toronto, Canada, working with the patient education group
called 'AboutKidsHealth' (www.aboutkidshealth.ca). She is responsible
for the development, implementation and evaluation of health
educational materials and programs towards Inuit families, children
and youth.
Amanda holds a BSc in Biology and Anthropology from Trent University,
an MSc in Epidemiology, a PhD in Medical Health Research, and has
completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Toronto.
Elevating the health and wellbeing within Indigenous populations has
been a focus of Dr. Sheppard's research interests. Much of her work
has been concentrated on tobacco, breast cancer, and maternal health
initiatives.
